Africa is home to six different species of crane. There are three distinct populations of Wattled crane (Bugeranus carunculatus) which claims the title of largest crane. One of those populations is found in the Ethiopian highlands where they forage for tubers and vegetation to eat during the rainy season. IUCN Status: Vulnerable
